New York, April 17, 2025Zoom Communications Inc. confirmed on Wednesday that it has fully restored its services after a major outage disrupted access for more than 50,000 users across the United States. The video conferencing giant acknowledged the disruption, which primarily affected users’ ability to log in and access meetings, but reassured users that all systems are now fully operational.

Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding,” the company announced in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) shortly before 5 p.m. EDT.

Widespread Disruptions Reported Across the U.S.

According to Downdetector, a real-time outage tracking service, over 50,000 issue reports were logged as of 3 p.m. EDT. Most complaints cited problems with logging into accounts, accessing live meetings, and Zoom’s web dashboard.

The disruption extended beyond just meeting access. Zoom’s system status site and internal email services also experienced temporary difficulties. The outage created ripple effects across industries, including remote workplaces, education sectors, and telehealth services — all of which heavily rely on Zoom’s infrastructure for virtual connectivity.

Zoom’s Infrastructure Back Online

Zoom engineers quickly identified and resolved the issue, although the company has yet to disclose the exact cause of the outage. All core services, including the Zoom web portal, desktop and mobile apps, and API connections, were confirmed to be functioning normally by late Wednesday afternoon.

The company stated it is reviewing the incident internally and will take steps to prevent future disruptions.

As Zoom remains a crucial tool for remote communication globally, the swift restoration of service underscores the platform’s commitment to uptime and reliability, even amid unforeseen technical difficulties.
