ChatGPT down: Users report facing issues with app and website face globally

ChatGPT is currently experiencing a global outage impacting hundreds of users. According to outage tracking site Downdetector, the popular chatbot is not working for several users in India, the US and UK and other regions. As per Downdetector data, the outage reports peaked at around 7:53 pm IST and have since been going down. OpenAI , the company behind ChatGPT, has yet to acknowledge the issue as users face problems while accessing the AI tool via its app and website. Nearly 1,000 users have already reported facing issues with ChatGPT. We at TOI Tech also faced troubles while using the chatbot as it kept on showing an error message which is shared below:

ChatGPT outage affecting hundreds globally

Downdetector data shows that in the US, 513 users reported facing issues with ChatGPT. 84% of users noted facing problems with the chatbot, while 9% and 6% of users complained about being unable to access the AI toolโ€™s website and app, respectively.

In the UK, 233 users reported issues with the AI tool, as 81% of users complained of facing problems with the chatbot. Meanwhile, 15% and 4% of users mentioned having trouble while accessing ChatGPTโ€™s website and app, respectively.

However, the issue didnโ€™t seem to be widespread in India, as only 50 users claimed to be facing troubles with ChatGPT. 94% of users in India had problems using the chatbot, while only 6% reported that they were unable to access the same through its website.
