Four held for motor pump thefs in Dewas

Indore: Tonkkhurd police have on Sunday arrested four men who were involved in motor pump thefts in the city of Dewas district and recovered stolen items worth approximately Rs 1.5 lakh.

Last year, On Dec 19, a farmer from Khareli village, Dinesh Mandloi, lodged a complaint after unknown thieves stole a motor pump from his field. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Under the direction of SP Puneet Gehlod, a special team was formed to investigate the matter. The operation was led by police station in charge Alok Soni and Tonkkala police outpost in charge Himanshu Pandey. The team utilised technical surveillance and local intelligence networks to trace the accused. With the help of Dingroda villagers, the suspects were successfully apprehended.

All four arrested individuals — Suraj alias Suresh (21), Dhirendra Sisodiya (33), Heenaraj Panwar (21), and Pardesh Parmar (36) — are residents of the Maksi area in Shajapur district. They are known to reside in the vicinity of Saraswati School in Maksi, said police.

During investigation, police recovered seven stolen motor pumps, a motorcycle, and several electrical cables from the accused. The police continue to investigate whether the group is linked to other similar thefts in the region.
