For more than two decades, Strictly Come Dancing has captivated BBC audiences as they witness a parade of celebrities grace the dancefloor, featuring stars such as Ed Balls, Zoe Ball, Helen Skelton and JB Gill.
With anticipation building for the upcoming series, scheduled to broadcast this autumn, enthusiasts have begun speculating about potential contestants for this year's competition.
Names including Stacey Solomon, Ashley Cain, Dani Dyer and Paul Brunson have all been the subject of rumours, though the BBC has yet to make any official announcements.
Nevertheless, the confirmed additions include the returning professional dancers, alongside two fresh faces and the judging panel.
Whilst Craig Revel Horwood has remained a fixture on the judging panel since the programme's inception, crucial show decisions ultimately rest with head judge Shirley Ballas, reports Edinburgh Live.
The 64-year-old began her dancing journey at just seven years old and subsequently claimed numerous accolades throughout her career, notably securing three British Open titles and becoming World Latin American champion.
A few years ago, the BBC personality posted nostalgic photographs from her competitive dancing days at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom, building excitement ahead of Strictly's legendary Blackpool week.
She wrote alongside the collection of images: "Wow. What memories. I was 4th in the North of England Ballroom Championship. Semi-final of the Latin championship. David Fleet was my first ever boy partner.
"Fabulous experience. I remember it like it was yesterday. Have you ever danced at Blackpool? And I was two when I started ballet and Mark I started him as soon as he could walk. Swipe to the end to see mine and @markballas' ballet shoes from many years ago. Cute Xx dance is for everybody."
It wasn't long before followers responded to the collection of photographs, with many stunned by Shirley's youthful appearance.
One person remarked: "Wow, wouldn't have recognised you, I've been to the Tower but never danced there, hadn't started dancing then.... It's on my wish list."
