star Jack P Shepherd appeared to have forgotten the name of one of his fellow soap stars, despite having spent the past quarter of a century as an actor. CBB is his first ever job away from the cobbles after first appearing as David Platt aged just 12 - but characters don't seem to have been on his radar.
Colson Smith, who is to appear in a major secret storyline this spring, today told Express that he thought he'd caught Jack exposing his lack of knowledge about rival soaps when he tuned into the reality show. Grinning playfully as he discussed Jack's friendship in the CBB house with Patsy Palmer, who infamously always yelled at her on-screen husband: "Rickayyyy", he joked: "Didn't he get it wrong last night? Didn't he say, 'Is it Ricky or is it Micky'?" He added that the "nice friendship" built up between Jack and ex-EastEnder Patsy, who even joked she could join Corrie and become his co-star, was one he hadn't seen coming.

"On Big Brother, you can't call who's going to be friends. I didn't expect Jack and Michael Fabricant to be chilling in the hot tub [either] but that's what we got!"
Colson sees himself as the "best-placed" person to comment on Jack's progress, as he was on CBB himself the previous year - and he says he's "loving" watching his pal follow in his footsteps.
"He's really being completely himself - we're seeing glimpses of the real Jack who is excitable and playful [and] I think he's really well poised!" he praised.
However, Colson added that he feels the "dynamic in the house has slightly changed" and that unexpected housemates could end up getting the chop as people shift suddenly in their voting choices.
"I also have a sneaky feeling it might be face-to-face nominations but Jack is the person who's unfazed," he exclaimed.
Colson feels that he'll be a target for eviction nominations simply because of his high-profile role, but thinks he's doing well in spite of the tense atmosphere.
"I'm loving watching him and I hope he's okay... I keep telling myself he is!" Colson grinned.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (Wednesday April 16) at 9pm on ITV.
