A new helicopter service connecting Haldwani and the scenic Kumaon city of Almora has been launched, offering a convenient and affordable travel option for tourists and locals alike. The service, operated from the Gaulapar heliport, runs twice daily with tickets priced at just ₹2,500 for one-way travel. This initiative aims to alleviate the frequent traffic jams on the road, particularly benefitting those visiting religious sites like Jageshwar Dham after Almora.
The helicopter flights from Haldwani to Almora are scheduled to depart at 11:50 AM and 3:10 PM, with return flights from Almora at 12:50 PM and 4:10 PM. Passengers can book tickets online through www.airheritage.in. Strict weight limits are enforced, with a maximum weight of 75 kilograms per passenger, and baggage allowances capped at 5 kilograms, with additional charges applied for excess baggage.
Alongside this, a similar air service is also being introduced between Pithoragarh and Munsyari, further enhancing mountain travel connectivity in the region. This new service is expected to provide commuters, tourists, and locals with a swift, reliable, and scenic alternative to long and often congested road journeys.
This development not only promotes tourism but also supports local residents who require timely travel for work or personal reasons, promising a significant improvement in regional connectivity and travel experience.
