Reality TV star Katie Price is celebrating a career milestone after her music comeback rocketed her to the top of the UK charts.

The former glamour model and reality TV star has seen her 2017 dance track I Got U experience a surprising resurgence, hitting number one on the iTunes dance chart and number two on the general UK hits chart.

The 47-year-old beat notable names such as Olivia Dean, Perrie Edwards, and Dizzee Rascal in sales and downloads this week. It comes as her ex-husband Peter Andre admits 'I'm not perfect' amid their ongoing feud nearly two decades on from a bitter divorce.

Katie’s representative told The Sun : “This is a massive surprise for Kate, she's always loved singing and this is a dream come true! She is having so much support from the public and can't thank them enough for her latest entrance into the charts.”

Katie herself took to Instagram Stories to share her delight with fans. She reposted congratulatory messages, writing: “Thank you to everyone my dreams have come true,” before joking, “Well, for once I'm speechless! Thank you so much!”

She also pointed out how affordable her track is, posting a screenshot showing I Got U available for 99p, captioning it, “Thank you so so much for all your support, honestly means the world to me.”

The single first made waves in 2017 during her second attempt at a pop career, but originally peaked at number five in the charts. She released the tune several years after performing a duet of A Whole New World with her ex husband Peter Andre in 2006. The pair donated the proceeds of their performance to charity.

Earlier this year, Katie revealed plans to build on her musical success with a new album and a tour. She told fans on TikTok: “Music, I've got my album coming out, I'm going up and down the country doing my normal gigs and next year, I haven't released the dates yet, I'm touring up and down the country.

“It's going to be called Katie Price's Big Bangers, where I do a lot of old school covers and my own material as well. You'll have to watch.”

While Katie has recently achieved musical success, she is facing big challenges in her personal life. The former glamour model has been navigating ongoing tensions with her ex husband Peter Andre, especially in relation to their eldest daughter, Princess.

Katie has been unhappy about being absent from her daughter's TV show, and accused Peter’s management of restricting her access to Princess’s birthday celebrations. His team have denied this claim.

He personally hit back on social media, writing: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.

“The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.”

Despite the drama, Katie is still proudly posting photos with Princess. She recently shared a photo where she could be seen twinning with her eldest daughter in matching tops, saying: “Off to London with my Princess, and yes, I got my eyelashes done.”
