Boots is heading to Netflix shortly and the series draws inspiration from Greg Cope White's memoir The Pink Marine.
The narrative centres on two closeted youngsters who enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps, facing the trials and unexpected camaraderie of boot camp during an era when homosexuality remained banned in the armed forces.
The official description states: "After impulsively joining the U.S. Marine Corps, a bullied teen finds new purpose - and unexpected brotherhood - with his motley team of fellow recruits."
A teaser trailer dropped in September and viewers have already shown considerable enthusiasm.
