Dashcam footage has captured the moment a van driver struck a motorcyclist before driving off without stopping. Anthony Gilham, 70, from Swanley in Kent, was sentenced to 22 months behind bars after he admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving near Stockbury, Kent.
The incident took place in May 2023, with Gilham also pleading guilty to failing to stop and report the accident. The dashcam video, taken from a bystander's car, shows the motorcyclist overtaking in the outside lane as they approach a road junction.
Suddenly, Gilham's white van pulls into the same lane as the victim. Despite the motorcyclist's attempts to swerve away, they collide with the van and are violently thrown off the road.

In the aftermath, Gilham's van is seen driving away while the car behind swerves to avoid debris on the road before pulling over, along with several other drivers.
As part of his sentence, Gilham has been banned from driving for four years and 11 months and will have to pass an extended re-test before he can get back behind the wheel.
