Hyderabad, Telangana — A revolutionary step has been taken in the public health sector of India. Hyderabad-based Niloufer Hospital has launched the country's first AI (artificial intelligence) based non-invasive blood test, which can provide important health information within just 60 seconds without any needle, blood or lab test. This technology is not only being considered a major achievement of science, but it can also completely change the access to health services in rural and backward areas of the country.

This innovative technology has been developed by healthtech startup Quick Vitals and is called "Amrit Swasth Bharat". It is a mobile app that gives blood test results in 20 to 60 seconds through facial scanning — that too without a single drop of blood. The face scanning technique is called Photoplethysmography (PPG) , which can detect a variety of health signs by recording the change in light absorption in the body's skin.
What can this system measure? The following health indicators can be measured through the 'Amrit Swasth Bharat' app:
- Blood Pressure
- Oxygen saturation (SpO2)
- Heart Rate
- Respiration Rate
- Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
- Hemoglobin A1c
- Stress Levels
- Pulse Respiratory Coefficient (PRQ)
- activation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
According to Harish Bissam, founder of Quick Vitals, “This technology is so simple that anyone can use it with their mobile camera just like taking a selfie.” He believes that this technology will improve access to healthcare especially in vulnerable and rural communities, where there are often no labs and testing facilities.
Launched at Niloufer Hospital: A boon for children and womenThe first official launch of this technology was done at the Red Hills Campus of Niloufer Hospital in Laldikapul, Hyderabad. Dr. Ravi Kumar, Superintendent of Niloufer Hospital, said, "This technology will prove to be very useful for maternal and child health. It is fast, safe and convenient - especially for children and pregnant women." Dr. Santosh Kralate, member of the National Medical Commission, said that through this technology, it will now be possible to diagnose 'silent' diseases like anemia early, which usually goes unnoticed in women and children. According to him, "This will ensure that no one is left out of our health campaigns."
The future of AI healthcare: Continuous monitoring from wearable devicesThis app not only scans from a mobile or tablet, but can also continuously monitor patients through a contact-based wearable PPG sensor. This means that now patients' health condition can be monitored continuously, without having to undergo tests repeatedly.
Priority given to data security and privacyQuick Vitals claims that the app is fully compliant with Indian medical data protection regulations.
- Each patient's data will be shared only with authorized healthcare providers .
- Multiple users can be registered on the same device.
- Data is fully encrypted, ensuring privacy and security .
During the launch at Niloufer Hospital, Quick Vitals founder Harish Bissam announced that the technology will soon be introduced in the state of Maharashtra. The aim is to expand the AI-based diagnostic system across India, so that health assessment of more people can be done in less time.
Why is this discovery like a revolution in the health sector? In a country like India, where long queues in government hospitals , lack of labs , and inequality in health facilities are common, this technology has emerged as a big relief.
- In villages and towns where there is no access to labs, this app can provide assessment just like a blood test using just a mobile phone.
- Time and resources are saved – no need to inject, no need to fill vials, and no need to wait for days for reports to arrive.
- The need for repeated blood extractions in women and children is eliminated.
Many officials of the Health Ministry are talking about linking it with government campaigns like National Health Mission, POSHAN Abhiyaan, and School Health Programs. If this happens, this app will provide cheap, safe and fast testing facility by visiting every school, panchayat bhawan or anganwadi center.
future healthcare'Amrit Swasth Bharat' is not just a huge technological breakthrough, but it is a solid step towards making India's healthcare system more inclusive, efficient and faster. Now, with a simple smartphone, there will be no need for expensive and time-consuming blood tests. The most vulnerable and remote population of the country will get the biggest benefit from this. In the coming years, when this technology spreads across the country, India's healthcare system will not only become faster and efficient, but also accessible to the masses.
