The Shivaji Park Police have registered a case against a 55-year-old man for allegedly violating a High Court order by feeding pigeons from a tray placed on the roof of his car. The accused, Mahendra D. Sanklecha, a resident of Gazdar Street, Chirabazar, Mumbai, has been booked following a complaint by Sandesh Vikram Matkar,57, a junior supervisor from the G-North Ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dadar (West).
Incident Near Gol Hanuman Temple Sparks Local Protest
According to the FIR, the incident occurred at around 7:30 AM on August 9, near the Gol Hanuman Temple, adjacent to Antonio D'Silva School, Deubai Ten, N.C. Kelkar Road, Dadar (West). Sanklecha reportedly arrived at the location in a Honda Amaze car (MH 01 BK 9038), placed a tray on the car’s roof, and began feeding pigeons.
Video Evidence Circulates on WhatsApp
Local residents strongly objected to his actions, prompting Sanklecha to leave the spot. However, a video clip of the incident later surfaced on WhatsApp, reportedly showing him claiming that 12 more vehicles would arrive to feed pigeons in a similar manner.

Case Registered Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Provisions
Following this, Matkar filed a formal complaint at the Shivaji Park Police Station. A case has been registered under sections 223, 270, and 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have issued a notice to Sanklecha and released him, while further investigation is underway.
