Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Renowned Bollywood film director Vivek Sharma has been accused of damaging his neighbour’s car in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, as reported by police on Thursday.
Vivek Sharma, who gave ‘Boothnath’ - a cherished film to the industry, originally hails from Jabalpur and is currently residing in Mumbai.
His ancestral home is located near the Gurudwara in Jabalpur’s Gorakhpur. Occasionally, he visits his hometown, however,it is reported he caused a major chaos during his recent visit.
It was neighbour's car
According to information, Vivek Sharma is accused of damaging a car parked in front of his ancestral home in Gorakhpur. The complaint has been filed by his neighbor, Deepesh Gupta, who also submitted CCTV footage to the police. The video allegedly shows Sharma vandalizing the vehicle.
Deepesh Gupta stated that Sharma had called him and asked to move the parked car. But when Gupta came out, he found the car’s windows already broken. He then filed a written complaint at the Gorakhpur police station in Jabalpur.
Gorakhpur police station in-charge Nitin Kamal said police have now launched an investigation based on the evidence provided.
Who is Vivek Sharma?
Vivek Sharma moved to his dream city, Mumbai, in 1992. Here he began his journey in the film industry by joining renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt as an assistant director. Over the next six years, he worked closely with Bhatt on several major films, including Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Naajayaz, Chaahat (1996), Duplicate (1998), and Angaaray (1998).
Later, he gained recognition when veteran actor Amitabh Bacchan agreed to star in his film, which was later released as Bhoothnath. His other projects include Kal Kisne Dekha, A Game Called Relationship, etc.
