Online registration and ticket booking
Registration is mandatory for the visit to Vaishno Devi Dham. To avoid crowds, book an online travel permit (Yatra Parchi) in advance. Also, book a helicopter service, a battery car, or a horse online. This helps to avoid long queues.
Travel early in the morning or late at night.
A 13 km long climb is required from Katra to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. If you start your trek early in the morning or late at night, the crowd is less. There are full security arrangements for those who travel at night.
Take an alternate route.
To avoid the crowd, you can choose different routes to reach the Bhawan. Apart from the traditional route, you can find less traffic by using Himkuti Bhawan Marg and Ardhkumari Bypass.

Option of helicopter and VIP darshan
Helicopter service is available from Katra to Sanjhi Chhat. Bhawan is just 2 km from here. Apart from this, VIP Darshan pass is also available in special circumstances, which helps to avoid long queues. If you cannot travel on foot, then book a helicopter in advance.
