Pradosh Vrat 2025: According to the Hindu calendar, Pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of every month, but the Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month is considered to be especially virtuous. Worshipping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati during the Pradosh period on this day gives special results. According to the Vedic calendar, the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month will start on May 9 at 2:56 pm and the date will end on the next day i.e., May 10 at 5:29 pm. Thus, Shukra Pradosh Vrat will be observed on May 9

Importance of Shiva Puja on Pradosh
This fast is considered to be very effective for the attainment of Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. On this day, fasting, fasting, Rudrabhishek, and offering various things on Shivling destroy all the defects and bring happiness, peace and prosperity in life. The glory of this fast is described in detail in Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana and Linga Purana. Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva is specially performed on the day of Pradosh fast. On this day, there is a special tradition of offering various things on the Shivling, which have great religious and spiritual significance.
Water and Gangajal – First of all, Shivling should be bathed with clean water and Gangajal. This destroys sins and purifies the mind.
Milk – Offering milk on Shivling ends Chandra Dosh and attains peace of mind.
Curd – By doing Abhishek with curd, one gets the happiness of children and family disputes end.
Ghee – By doing Rudrabhishek with ghee, the financial condition is strengthened and the blessings of Lakshmi remain.
Honey – Offering honey on Shivling makes the speech sweet and calms down the enemies.
Sugar or Mishri – This gives happiness and good fortune to the man.

Belpatra – Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiva. Offering Tripatri Bel destroys all sins and one gets the special grace of Shiva.
Dhatura and Aak flower – Both these plants are dear to Lord Shiva and offering them ends debt, disease and enemy obstacles.
Bhasma and Sandalwood – Offering Bhasma to Shiva ends worldly attachments while sandalwood gives coolness and purity to the mind.
Naivedya and fruits – Offering fruits and sweets to God paves the way for happiness and prosperity.
