Losing weight is never easy, but one former chartered accountant has proved that even artificial intelligence can become your best diet coach. Shilpa Sunil, who quit her CA career and is now a fashion designer, turned to ChatGPT for guidance and ended up shedding 14 kilos in just four months. Instead of following fad diets or expensive plans, she used a simple prompt, tracked her meals daily, and let AI calculate her calorie intake to keep her accountable.

Shilpa shared the exact ChatGPT prompt she used in a now-viral Instagram post. She entered her current weight, desired weight, the time frame for her goal, and her age to get an estimate of how many calories she should consume daily. The twist? She didn’t stop there. For the next three to four weeks, she logged every single meal into ChatGPT in everyday terms — things like six spoons of rice, six spoons of vegetables, or a bowl of salad.

ChatGPT then calculated her total calorie intake for the day and guided her on whether she was staying within her target. According to Shilpa, this structured yet flexible approach completely changed the way she viewed her meals. By tracking consistently, she was able to eat more mindfully and hit her target without feeling deprived.

“It helped me understand my meals and reach my target in a structured way,” Shilpa wrote, crediting ChatGPT for making her weight loss journey both achievable and sustainable.

AI helping with weight loss
Increasingly, people are relying on AI for their weight loss journey nowadays. Previously, a YouTuber behind the channel My Life By AI revealed how artificial intelligence helped him lose 60 pounds (27 kilograms) and completely transformed his lifestyle in just six months. Seeking discipline and structure, he created a digital assistant named Arthur using AI tools like ChatGPT. This “AI-assisted life system” managed everything from meal planning and workouts to his content calendar, effectively becoming a personal coach that kept him accountable.

Before this, he shared that he struggled with fast food binges, weekends filled with beer and fries, and cycles of guilt that derailed his health goals. With Arthur’s guidance, he began walking daily, lifting weights, and building a consistent exercise routine. At the same time, his meals became more intentional—scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, chilli beef with rice and beans for lunch, and nutrient-rich dinners of baked chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, vegetables, and Greek yoghurt.

The results went beyond weight loss. He reported higher energy levels, sharper focus, and renewed passion for content creation. What started as a tech experiment became a lifestyle overhaul, proving that AI, when used mindfully, can provide the consistency and structure many people struggle to maintain on their own.
