Ruben Amorim acknowledged that Manchester United "need to do the same thing" as Arsenal on corner-kicks because of how they scored the only goal at Old Trafford.
The coach took umbrage with William Saliba touching Altay Bayindir before the United goalkeeper inadvertently helped a Declan Rice delivery onto the head of Riccardo Calafiori. Amorim believes that Saliba is pushing Bayindir during the incident.
Bruno Fernandes also claims the goalkeeper said he "gets a touch" from the Gunners defender. Their captain also alluded to PGMOL claiming they would clamp down on blocking when any players were not looking at the ball.
United do not need to do the same thing as Arsenal, though, as they were already doing so on Sunday by pressurising David Raya. Footage of multiple incidents where United players made contact with the Arsenal goalkeeper has emerged in the aftermath.
Matthijs de Ligt was often contesting for the ball with Raya. Mason Mount also had the role of backing into the goalkeeper on corners.
Raya, however, punched the ball away on these occasions rather than assisting his team in conceding a goal. That is why there is not the same uproar, despite United being just as culpable overall.
As referenced by Fernandes, The Times reported last week that PGMOL had tweaked how they will enforce rules around holding offences. They are said to be penalised more stringently in set pieces this season, especially when attempting to stop the movement of an opponent by attackers by blocking or obstructing.
On the Bayindir incident, Mikel Arteta said: "I think we did two things very well. One, to take the set-piece and then react to especially mistakes.
"Some of them are necessary, some of them unusual. But the way every single player reacted to that gives us the opportunity to win the game. If not, it's impossible. And that's about how we compete and how much we want to take it."
